Beginning Assignment

The following image was part of my HSC Major Design Project for Design & Technology. I designed the house to be eco-friendly as well as contain a modern look fitting for a suburban area. As the photo shows the house was designed to make full effect of the Australian sun and as a result contains many windows, skylights and solar panels to allow both natural lights into and throughout the house as well as converting it to electricity.

The following images are of the Twin PETRONAS Towers which are the tallest twin towers in the world. An interesting fact of its architecture is that the cross section of the towers is based on the Rub el Hizb, a Muslim artefact meaning that the design was not only meant to be one of the biggest buildings in the world but make a statement of Indonesia’s Muslim background to the world.

This image is beautiful in the way that animals adapt to survive in nature. The design print on this butterfly’s wings are used to blend it with its background as well as to imitate a larger animal such as an owl (due to the resemblance of the eye) in order to ward off predators.
